The Vision
The clients wanted a home that embraced the Bigfork landscape while maintaining a sleek, modern edge. The design features a multi-level structure that maximizes natural light and views through extensive glazing, utilizing high-performance materials to withstand Montana winters. The aesthetic is a seamless blend of industrial textures—such as standing seam metal roofing and steel cable railings—with the warmth of natural stone and timber.
The Build Challenges
Steep Grade Integration: The project required precise excavation and foundation work to accommodate a walk-out lower level and concrete paver patios on a sloping lot.
Complex Framing & Energy Efficiency: We utilized "Raised Heel Energy Scissor Trusses" to achieve vaulted ceilings while allowing for maximum insulation depth, ensuring the home remains energy-efficient.
Structural Precision: The open-concept main floor required the installation of structural wood beams and columns to support the loft and roof loads without obstructing sightlines.
Features & Materials
Exterior Skin: A combination of "Peppery Ash" Hardie Plank Lap Siding and Moose Mountain thin veneer ledge stone.
Gourmet Kitchen: Features a large island, custom modular cabinetry, and a high-end Miele appliance package including an induction cooktop
and speed oven.
Statement Fireplace: A sleek RC500E Gas Fireplace serves as the modern anchor for the living room.
Luxury Bathrooms: The master bath includes a frameless glass tile shower with a built-in bench and floating vanities.
Outdoor Living: Extensive Trex decking and a lower-level concrete patio equipped with a gas starter fire pit.
Client Testimonial
"What stood out to me most with Lake View Builders was their attention to detail. Even during the construction phase, they send photo updates several times a week and communication is excellent. Their pricing has always been upfront and they are great at handling changes on the fly. If you're looking to build a house in the Flathead Valley, I 100% recommend them."
