The Vision

The "Paradise View" project was designed as a statement piece where the structure serves as the art. The owners desired a robust Modern Farmhouse aesthetic using exposed natural wood to soften sharp architectural lines. Our mission was to provide the "bones" and the "skin" of the house, executing a complex framing package that integrated massive timber elements into the exterior design.

The Build Challenges

Heavy Timber Logistics: This project involved a significant volume of timber work. Maneuvering and setting heavy solid wood beams and trusses for the front and rear gables required crane coordination and precise joinery at significant heights.

Steep Pitch Execution: The roofline features dramatic 12/12 pitches intersecting with 4/12 shed roofs. Framing these angles safely while integrating decorative timber trusses required expert carpentry.

Tall Wall Precision: We framed the soaring walls for the two-story Great Room, ensuring perfectly plumb studs to accommodate large window packages and support heavy roof loads.

Features & Materials

Custom Timber Trusses: We installed prominent timber trusses in the gable ends to create the signature "mountain rustic" look.

Structural Porch Timbers: The front and rear covered porches are supported by heavy timber posts and headers, framed to remain exposed as a primary architectural feature.

Mixed Siding Installation: The exterior finish required seamless transitions between vertical board-and-batten and horizontal lap siding, installed around complex timber penetrations.

Bonus Room Spans: The framing included heavy-duty headers over the 3-car garage to support the large bonus studio above, ensuring a stable floor system.
